WHAT HAPPENED???

We were so puzzled as to why Ms. Clancey's green onion grew and ours has only begun to sprout!! Our I WONDER questions were coming fast and furious! We cut ours the same day as Ms. Clancey's class and placed it in the same location. Hers grew a lot...I WONDER WHY????????? We were very surprised that our green onion didn't grow. It certainly sparked our curiosity. Did Ms. Clancey place her green onion in the same spot as we did? Maybe it got more sun? Maybe we didn't put enough water in the cup? OR maybe we put too much water? Why would one green onion grow and not the other?

I was totally surprised too as Tanya and myself had done the exact same thing. SO.........we searched Google to find the answer. Turns out that some green onions won't grow back if they have been cut too short and some green onions will need soil to regrow. WOW!!!!!!!!

We had lots of FUN. The children are still watching our green onion to see if it will grow. They want to keep an eye on Ms. Clancey's green onion too. We are all curious as to what will happen to that green onion.

Next we are going to plant lettuce seeds and even sunflower seeds to see what will happen!!!!!!!! We are all so excited!!!!!!
